Celebrity entertainment magazine Playboy has announced the opening of an online art gallery in the form of NFT. To this end, Ethereum (ETH) - based platform, one of the leading NFT markets, partnered with Nifty Gateway. The NFT Art Gallery is expected to have an extensive 70-year-old collection of photographs.
“We are excited about all the innovations that blockchain can bring, and a large part of our work will support artists as collectors. We are here to learn, support the community and innovate together.”
Brand's Image Has Changed
The celebrity magazine has moved in a more progressive direction since the late Hugh Hefner's family sold their last stake in Playboy Enterprises in August 2018. An editor belonging to Generation Y gave the team a new image.
Nearly 50 years after its heyday in the 1970s, the iconic magazine is now preparing to rediscover itself and open its doors to new customers with the NFT. Rachel Webber, one of Playboy's executives, told Business Insider that she sees the NFTS as a tremendous opportunity:
"We see the digital asset revolution as a tremendous business opportunity. We see great potential in integrating tokens into our work and activities.”
